Teams require everyone on the team to cultivate a spirit of teamwork. That means working with people as well as working toward making the ideas of others a reality. This is especially important when we disagree on a direction. A great teammate is able to support an idea if it isn’t morally wrong. This is often easier said than done because our human nature likes to prove ourselves right. Helping to make an idea we don’t agree with happen proves someone else correct. The ability to do that is the gist of being a great teammate. Anyone can cooperate with people who support our ideas. Great teammates disagree so well that they support ideas they question as if they were their own for the good of the team. The goal is never to be proven correct but rather to move the team forward.
