Freedom to Thrive

In a world that seems to have so many built in distractions, it is not a surprise that mediocrity is so celebrated. Focus is not even possible for many who have to constantly distract themselves from the pressure of the tasks and expectations they are facing. This allows those who learn the discipline required to focus to stand out in a noisy and mediocre world. Focus is scary to those who don’t understand it. Quit social media for a defined period of time without telling anyone why and see how people respond. Something must be wrong with us to abstain from the constant flow of information that calls to us from our pockets and desktops. There is a distinct advantage in the freedom to not indulge based on the expectations of others. That freedom is not understood by those who do not enjoy it.
