Rookie Move

Those who struggle to see the world through the filter of focus are operating at a clear disadvantage. Rookies often demonstrate a lack of focus when they get overwhelmed by the speed of the new level of competition. Things seem to move too fast for them. They are caught reacting rather than implementing their plan and therefore have the game dictated to them. Information overload is nothing more than noise. The brain is limited in that noisy moment to make sense of the circumstance and that’s when rookies show their lack of experience. Rookies struggle to focus because they haven’t mastered the skills and concepts that free up their brain to focus. Focus requires a competency that allows the brain to strategize while mastered skills are automatically executed in the appropriate moment.
