Great teams have the ability to tune out all of the noise and distractions that threaten to take their eyes off of their objective. Think about what we see in sports. The truly transcendent athletes can see the action in almost slow motion. They have the ability to take in all the information available to them and filter out everything that they don’t need. This filter allows them to focus their energy, attention, and resources towards the objective. That focus allows the athlete to have the ability to perform regardless of circumstance. They can hit the shot at the beginning of the game and in the clutch moment when it matters most because the noise is filtered.
