Motivation is something every team has to deal with at some point. The things that matter most are not always inherently interesting. This is because they most often require more effort or competence than we are used to. What do I do when I don’t feel like doing it? What would make me do it anyway? More money? Perhaps. Eventually more money quickly becomes a familiar amount of money and uninteresting tasks stay uninteresting. Is it the integrity to follow through? I hope we are people of our word but sometimes that’s easier said than done. The last resort for motivation is often the unbearable thought of letting the team down. There is no pressure like peer pressure and that is one of the strongest benefits of being on a team.
