Discussion is good and should happen to plan and coordinate efforts but when discussion replaces practical action, it can hold a team back. Discussion should be used to unify the team prior to an action. Too often discussion can be used to hide from the accountability of actually doing what we talk about. It can feel good to talk because the discussion has all the emotion of what could be. Actions are risky because theories get tested and it can feel bad to fall short of what was discussed. The answer is to talk about what was learned from the action and try again.
