Why is fun important?

Fun is important because it quickly bonds a team. When we have fun doing something, we want to do that fun thing more often. The team that has fun is drawn closer together than those that must grind out tasks in a terrible environment. The fun teams and the not-fun teams often have the same non-preferred tasks, but the fun teams know how to enjoy each other so that those non-preferred tasks go by faster. Time slows down for the not-fun teams and that makes the grind even worse as they begin to associate that not-fun feeling with team activities. Meanwhile, the fun teams begin to associate the team with the fun that they have.
