Sentiment and Insecurity
If we really care about other people, would we wait until a team meeting to inquire about them? Of course not. Good meetings cut to the chase, but I am not advocating expedient and cold interaction with people. We should follow up with those that we care about in a meeting that has that topic as an agenda. This usually happens over coffee or a meal. Doing this in a team meeting is usually motivated by the realization that we only talk to this person when we have to. Out of insecurity, we ask the questions that should be asked at another time if we really wanted to keep the meeting we are currently in effective.
