The Danger of Distance
No one likes a micromanager. It doesn’t feel good to not be trusted by others to make decisions about the things that I am responsible for. The lack of trust that results from micromanagement is dangerous for everyone involved because decisions are made by someone that is too distant from the situation to be effective. Authority needs to be shared with those that are close enough to make decisions in realtime based on facts, not the assumption of the distant micromanager.
