Inspired and Not Required

If a leader has to resort to requirements, then they have abdicated half of their responsibility. A leader should inspire action. Required action is lazy leadership that drags people along while daring them to break a rule. Inspiration casts a vision that motivates people to take action beyond the bare-minimum requirement. All leaders need to look at their “rules” and ask how they could light the hearts of their people on fire to what is necessary without the rule.
