Everyone has agendas, but truth needs to be what drives decision-making. Personal gain or being right should never be the reason that a decision is made. Teams must be committed to discussing a direction with the goal of finding the right decision in the right moment. My agenda as a solid teammate should be to find the right path. It is possible that my idea is ideal. Eventually, whatever the team decides will play out and the team can learn from the decision. Once that happens and the original path has been field tested, perhaps everyone will agree on a new direction.
