Ruthless

Winning requires a ruthlessness that not everyone can stomach. That is where the whole “nice guys finish last” idea comes from. I am not advocating being a jerk towards other people in order to win. I am advocating eliminating the excuses that “nice” people indulge in and allow their team to indulge in so that they can detour their winning path towards a more satisfying experience. Ruthless moves the team toward the goal despite discomfort and a lack of a satisfaction. Winning isn’t comfortable and it’s not always satisfying, but it is best when it’s defined correctly. Those that win understand that the well-defined win is worth being ruthless for.
