Work Ethic: Delay Gratification

Teams that develop a great work ethic understand that they cannot prioritize their favorite tasks over the tasks that will make them successful. Skipping non-preferred tasks is an excellent way to get behind on work. Great teammates understand that delaying gratification is the right thing to do. Our work should be fun, but a teammate that expects to have nothing but fun tasks is demonstrating a poor work ethic. Great teams have the ability to delay gratification enough to get the required work done and not just their favorite parts of the required work.
