The Soft Sell Costs Credibility

It’s always better to accurately describe the tough road ahead when communicating to our teams. Sugarcoating the effort required to accomplish the vision we are pitching makes us liars at worst or clueless at best. Every vision has a cost and the soft sell is like finding hidden fees when you get a bill. Great leaders rally their teams to accomplish big goals that require a lot from their team. Ordinary ones apologize for the effort required or fearfully bait and switch their teams into challenging circumstances.
