The Democracy Myth

In a democratic society, it’s difficult to understand that not every team is a democratic situation. It is true that America is a free country. Everyone usually has the inherent freedom to join whatever team they want. Part of choosing to join a team is choosing to submit to the authority structure that helps the team move forward. Great teams have a healthy authority structure where they help their teammates by holding them accountabile. Otherwise, for example, families that are ran by the people (kids) and for the people (kids) have candy for breakfast, no bed time, and produce rotten kids. The point is that without a healthy authority structure accountability dissolves and the team cannot improve over time.
