Subtle Poison

It’s the subtle poison that is most dangerous. Poison that comes with hazard warnings and big red flags are easily dealt with and avoided. Bitterness is the subtle poison on the team because it remains silent in the mind of the offended. The silent nature leaves the offended teammate untreated and the vilified teammate unaware of the offense. Most bitterness can be avoided through a simple conversation in the moment of offense or shortly thereafter. Passivity causes us to dismiss our own feelings and therefore try to let go of something until it becomes bitter. Let’s all agree to not get bitter but choose to talk it out and get better.
