Favorites: Self-imposed Rules

When teams are managing change, it is important to keep as open a mind as possible. I have learned that the best way to keep an open mind is to limit my favorites. We all have our favorite color and foods but we should not have a favorite way or method. When we do, we tend to manipulate things to work out the way we favor. The problem is that our favorite is one good way that worked out in the past but may not be a great way to manage the current change. Favorites can become self-imposed rules that limit the possibilities of a team. Great teams favor effectiveness and healthy people above any and all agendas. Favorites are for five year olds anyway.
