Failure is Not an Option?
Planning is a great barometer of a team’s confidence. Overconfident teams tend to skimp on the effort required to plan well. There is no room in their narrative for failure. They therefore feel entitled to a win and can’t see anything that would cause them to think otherwise. Success must be managed in a way that acknowledges the path that brought the team to that place. Success should be humbling for a team in hindsight because of all it took to obtain it. Failing to consider failure makes it much more difficult to recover when it happens.
