We must separate our contentment when we self-evaluate. Great teams and teammates are discontent with their growth toward their potential while being content with the season that is causing the very growth necessary to reach their potential. Too often we are discontent with our current reality or circumstance and miss the fact that we cannot reach our potential without passing through that circumstance effectively. The irony is that when we are content with our personal growth, we will grow more discontent with the less than ideal circumstances stagnation creates. It’s not until we grow that we will move towards our potential. The best growth happens when we learn to enjoy the season of growth.
