When we work closely with each other on a team, we should build relationships that are both meaningful and lasting. Some of the best friends I have ever had were my teammates. Teams tend to bond in a foxhole fellowship that builds from a series of common experiences. This is as it should be. However, no matter how close we grow to our teammates, we must work hard to not allow ourselves to be blinded by it. Those we like tend to get the benefit of the doubt as we grow comfortable with them. Friends don’t let friends drift from accountability…especially on a team.
