Quick Fix Culture

A quick fix may look and feel good in the short-term, but it may only prove to be a Band-Aid that covers rather than solves the root cause of a disappointment. The “fix” may be much more complex than it appears when first assessed. Quick fixes keep us moving. There is a time and place for them, but they do us harm when they succeed in moving us past the ability to appropriately assess a situation. A quick fix may only delay the inevitable by keeping the team on a cyclical routine of quick fixes that will eventually result in an infrastructure comprised of tape and Band-Aids.
