Common Sense Killer: Arrogance

It is often said that our perception determines our reality. What our team chooses to see will determine how it will move forward. When a team grows accustomed to success and see itself as having “arrived”, it will cease to make decisions to move forward. Progression stops and atrophy begins to set in because sound decisions do not seem as important when a team ceases to be hungry for improvement. Common sense goes out the window because the team is somehow “uncommon” enough to not need it. Shortcuts are taken and the atrophy begins to take its toll before anyone notices. Arrogance is really a blindness that limits the team’s ability to care enough about the little things that would take care of them. Eventually, those little things stop taking care of the team.
