Managing Team Hubris
Hubris can be defined as exaggerated pride or self-confidence. Teams experience hubris when they begin to expect the results their hard work and effort have produced. It’s difficult to manage hubris because it comes on subtly. It begins with a celebration that turns to expectation. Celebration is something every team should enjoy when accomplishing goals. You know hubris has set in when teams cease to celebrate accomplishments because it seems as if they are entitled to it.
