Teams Are Not Like Social Media
Many people in our culture experience relationships on a very superficial level because of the influence of Social Media. You friend request me and then I accept. Boom! We are now friends! You like my posts and I will like yours until one of us doesn’t because of subtle disagreement. Then we are unfriended or unfollowed.
You can’t do that as subtly on a team. Disagreements have to be dealt with or dysfunction will occur. Internal conflict cannot be scrolled past with a flick of the thumb. You have to look that real person in the face everyday and choose whether the relationship is worth the confrontation or if not, to “scroll past” them with a fake smile.
