Anarchy Is Safer Than No Accountability
Does the team have the authority to enforce the culture they all agreed to? It would be safer to have no rules from the start than rules that are stated but never enforced and without consequence. Each individual should at least be given the choice to agree to the expectation of “every person for themselves” when they join the team.
Promising safety and later providing none will feed fear and dissolve trust and create an unsafe team dynamic over time.
