There is an education that begins when a new person joins the team. The new team member has to learn the culture of his new team and the personalities of his new teammates. The team has to learn who the new teammate is and how that person will fit in with everyone else.
The education is a team exercise that should never be one-sided. When done correctly, a new person ceases to be new at least one year after joining the team. It takes that long to learn how to anticipate all the new variables that a new teammate brings with them.
