An Army of One

Unhealthy conflict does not always result from avoiding it. Unhealthy Conflict can also happen when someone decides to preempt it by dominating the decision-making. Dominant personalities can poison a team dynamic if they create an environment that limits feedback and input from others. It’s easier to preempt possible pushback by aggressively pursuing one agenda over all others. It creates a “no competition” clause in the area of ideas and decisions. Over time this can create an oppressive environment that only caters to one direction. This can force others to respond with their own poison…passive aggressive behavior in an attempt to influence direction without head to head conflict with the aggressor. This attitude defeats the purpose of being on the team.
