Be a Great Teammate: Have Courage
Fear is something everyone battles in the midst of trial and challenge. Teams exist to overcome trials and challenges so it is inevitable that a team will have to respond to fear. Everyone handles fear differently and an unhealthy response to fear can be contagious. To be a great teammate we must master our day-to-day fear because it will affect every decision we make. Those decisions affect the team and can potentially create a culture that could affect the team’s future.
Fear clouds our thinking by restricting our vision. When we are fearful, we tend to make decisions based on what might happen instead of what should happen. The good news is that courage is just as contagious on a team. We have a choice to be courageous every day.
