Decisions Based on Insecurity
Insecurity is a special kind of fear that corrupts our decision making. It’s a fear of not measuring up. Busy people are insecure about taking on new tasks because they are swamped. Inept people see everything as a threat and therefore shoot down every idea they are not comfortable with. The insecure decision maker often projects their insecurities onto others and begins to say “no” on behalf of other teammates. The worst is when people are against an idea because it’s not their own and someone else will get the credit.
