The Necessary Components
Taking responsibility, or “owning” something as Jocko Willink would say in his book Extreme Ownership (annual must read by the way), requires more than most people are willing to offer. Ownership doesn’t happen unless the following occurs:
1) Acknowledgement of wrong; “My Bad…”
2) Apology; “I’m sorry…”
3) Plan to change; “This is what I will do differently….”
4) Actions that match the plan and actually demonstrate change.
