What Empowerment Means

Empowerment is not a statement that tells someone they are responsible to make things happen the way I want them to happen. Empowerment says, “I trust you to figure this out in a better way than I know how.” Insecure leaders can’t truly empower people because they are too afraid of mistakes that will reflect on them. They want things done their way or it’s the highway. If someone is not given the authority to take care of their responsibility then they are not empowered.
