Imagined Need

Our stress level is often directly related to our personal need to control an outcome. Nothing causes me to want to control something more than some sentimental thought or emotional attachment. When I care more, I want to control things so that what I care about is taken care of the way I want it to. My need for control isn’t rational. Reality doesn’t change because of my emotion. This angst is completely internal and the importance of the outcome is manufactured by my emotionally charged preferences. It’s likely that the outcome is out of our control regardless of our concern and imagined need.
