Integrity is Inconvenient

Cutting corners is a common practice. Would you run a red light if you knew no one would know? Would you do it only if you were really late? Our integrity is tested in moments that seem insignificant at the time of compromise. Insignificant moments make the payoff for cutting a corner seem like a good return on the risk. What’s the big deal? No one will be harmed right? Until they are and you learn the hard way why that inconvenient policy, rule, or expectation is in place.
