The Dominoes of Discipline
I have noticed that when I struggle with discipline, it seems to be like a line of dominoes. It goes something like this…I stay up too late binge watching a show and then I am too tired to get up and go to the gym which leads to a mindset that since I didn’t go to the gym I should get a hamburger instead of a salad for lunch and then I am not going to work out in the afternoon because my stomach doesn’t feel great from lunch and I can just make up my work out tomorrow. I know there is a theme of discipline in physical fitness, but I am sure that other lapses in discipline have a similar avalanche, what feels like an unstoppable momentum of bad choices. Sometimes it’s best just to stop and acknowledge the slide and make a better choice.
