Success is Not an Option?

A lack of confidence can cause a team or teammate to under-prepare because they don’t expect success. When a team doesn’t expect success, they will not invest as much effort as they should because who wants to work hard for a losing cause? If a team plans contingencies for both success and failure, then the team is investing in two valuable futures from which the team can learn. Every team should put a winning effort into every losing cause. Games are played to the end for a reason because we never know when a little hard work and effort will result in a surprising outcome. Preparing for two outcomes seems like a lot of work to some, but not to the great teams that understand how to play.
