Common Sense Killer: The Choice to Cheat

Cheating has a negative connotation. There comes a point where healthy innovation turns into real cheating. Innovation happens within the rules or changes the rules to make a better future based on learning. Innovation is the context of the old saying of, “if you’re not cheating, you’re not trying”. True cheating is a shortcut that gains a short-term reward at the cost of integrity. It rewards only in the short-term. There is no substitute for hard work and effort over time. That hard work usually includes a best practice cheaters are trying to avoid. Cheaters always discount the future for immediate gratification.
